What is the procedure like in Orlando?
At the start of the procedure, one of our highly trained estheticians will begin by first cleansing the skin. A chemical solution will then be applied to the targeted area and left on for a few minutes, depending on the type of peel the individual is receiving. The chemical peel will then be washed off and the skin neutralized. Over the course of the next few days patients will begin to notice the skin peeling, revealing a new healthy and brighter layer underneath. Typically, patients experience peeling approximately 2 days after the procedure, which can last 2-5 days.
Post-treatment, the treated skin tends to be temporarily more sensitive to the sun. For this reason, we recommended for patients to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and limit the time spent outdoors. In addition, the treated skin may appear red in color. This is a common side effect and should subside naturally as the skin begins to heal itself. These peels can be repeated every 3-6 weeks depending on the peel that is best for you. Chemical peels can be used on all Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV.
